Objective: To observe the efficacy of the virtual reality-based neck motion evaluation and rehabilitation training system on neck pain and motor function in patients with cervical spondylosis. Methods: From March 2023 to November 2023, 60 patients with cervical spondylosis in our hospital were divided into a control group (n=30) and an experimental group (n=30) by the randomized numerical methods, and both groups received conventional rehabilitation therapy. The control group was given active rehabilitation training on the basis of conventional rehabilitation therapy, and the experimental group was subjected to virtual reality neck rehabilitation training on the basis of conventional rehabilitation for a weekly period of 5 times for 4 weeks. The pain numerical rating scale (NRS) and neck disability index scale (NDI) were used before and after treatment, and the cervical joint mobility of the patients was measured by the neck movement assessment system using virtual reality technology. Results: After treatment, the NRS scores and NDI scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and those in the experimental group were better than in the control group (P<0.05); the cervical spine mobility in both groups (anterior flexion, posterior extension, left flexion, right flexion, left rotation, right rotation) was greater than that before treatment (P<0.05), and that in the experimental group was better than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The neck motion evaluation and rehabilitation training system based on virtual reality technology can improve the cervical spine motion function of patients with cervical spondylosis, increase cervical spine joint mobility, and alleviate pain.
