Objective: To observe the clinical effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) combined with sertraline in the treatment of depression. Methods:Sixty-two cases of depression were randomly divided into two groups. The drug group was given oral administration of sertraline, and combination group given CBT besides sertraline. Before and after treatment, the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) were used to assess the clinical effectiveness. Results:After treatment for 4 and 8 weeks, the HAMD and HAMA scores showed a declined trend as compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and those in the combination group were significantly lower than in the drug group (P<0.05). Eight months after treatment HAMD and HAMA scores in the combination group were significantly lower than in the drug group (P<0.01). Conclusion:CBT can significantly improve the clinical effectiveness and long-term efficacy of patients with depression. |
