Objective:To observe the therapeutic effects of acupuncture combined with psychological intervention for refractory central hiccough.Methods:Seventy-three patients with refractory central hiccough were divided into two groups randomly.The patients in group A(n=37)and group B(n=36)were treated by scalp and body acupuncture,and those in group B were given psychological intervention additionally,including relaxation training and music therapy.Results:After treatment for 4 days,the healing rate and total effective rate in group B were significantly higher than in group A(P<0.05).The one and two-day healing rate in group B was significantly higher than in group A(P<0.05).After treatment for 4 days,the scores of SAS and SDS in two groups were significantly reduced as compared with those before treatment(P<0.05,P<0.01),and those in group B were significantly lower than in group A(P<0.05).Conclusion:Psychological intervention can effectively alleviate the symptoms of anxiety and depression of the patients,and its combined use with acupuncture therapy can significantly increase the curative effect on refractory central hiccough. |
