EN Abstract:
Objective:To observe the therapeutic effects of acupuncture combined with psychological intervention for refractory central hiccough.Methods:Seventy-three patients with refractory central hiccough were divided into two groups randomly. The patients in group A(n=37)and group B(n=36)were treated by scalp and body acupuncture, and those in group B were given psychological intervention additionally, including relaxation training and music therapy. Results:After treatment for 4 days, the healing rate and total effective rate in group B were significantly higher than in group A(P<0.05).The one and two-day healing rate in group B was significantly higher than in group A(P<0.05).After treatment for 4 days, the scores of SAS and SDS in two groups were significantly reduced as compared with those before treatment(P<0.05,P<0.01),and those in group B were significantly lower than in group A(P<0.05).Conclusion:Psychological intervention can effectively alleviate the symptoms of anxiety and depression of the patients, and its combined use with acupuncture therapy can significantly increase the curative effect on refractory central hiccough.
