Objective: To observe the efficacy of pelvic floor rehabilitation treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction following hysterectomy. Methods: 156 cases of hysterectomy patients with severe weakness of the pelvic floor were divided into two groups: the observation group (n=102) and the control group (n=54). The observation group was given biofeedback combined with electrical stimulation of the pelvic floor muscles assisted by vaginal dumbbell exercise. The control group made anal contraction to exercise the pelvic floor muscles at home. Results: After treatment, muscle strength by hand measurement or by electrical measurement was significantly increased in observation group as compared with that before treatment and in the control group (P<0.01). The times of urine leakage and the amount of urine leakage and the degree of influence on life in the observation group were significantly reduced as compared with those before treatment and in the control group (P<0.01). The assessment of the control group before and after treatment showed no significant differences. After treatment, the total efficiency of the observation group was significantly higher than in the control group (P<0.01). Conclusions: Treatment of severe pelvic floor weakness has the satisfactory effect with biofeedback combined with electrical stimulation assisted by vaginal dumbbell. |
