Objective:To explore the validity and application of Fuld Object Memory Evaluation (FOME) in memory impairment assessment of post-stroke patients. Methods: From 2014 to 2015, 116 eligible post-stroke patients as case group and 120 healthy cases as control group were selected. The background information of all cases were collected and assessed by FOME and MoCA Beijing version respectively. Independent samples t-test was applied to compare scores of FOME and MoCA between case group and control group. Pearson correlation analysis was done to identify the correlation between FOME and MoCA, and also to explore the influence of background information on the FOME scores. Results:There was significant difference in scores of FOME between case group and control group (P<0.01). The scores of FOME and MoCA were highly correlated. The scores of FOME were weakly correlated with age, and had no significant difference among education levels. Conclusion:FOME is a clinically useful instrument to assess the memory function of post-stroke survivors. FOME was weakly influenced by education level. It can be used in detecting post-stroke dementia and guiding the memory training for post-stroke patients. |
