Objective: To assess the effect of exercise intervention on the cognitive function of patients with Alzheimer disease (AD). Methods: The Chinese and English databases were searched, and the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on effects of exercise on AD were collected. The RevMan 5.3 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 12 RCTs were included. The results suggested that the exercise could increase the cognitive scores of AD patients (SMD=1.54, 95% CI [0.99, 2.09], P<0.01, I2=84%). There was statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: The intervention of exercise has a positive effect on the cognitive function of AD. |
