Objective: To explore the hot topics and cooperative networks in the research of neuropathic pain in the past five years, and make a qualitative and quantitative analysis of these studies, in order to clarify the future research direction and promote further research. Methods: The literature on neuropathic pain comes from WebofScience database. Through the CiteSpace5.8.R3 software, this paper makes a visual analysis from the aspects of annual article volume, cited frequency, country, institution, fund, author, keyword, reference and so on. Results: A total of 3187 articles were included, and the results showed that the average annual number of articles published in this field was more than 600. The author with the largest number of articles was Yuan Xiangtao, with FinnerupNB and ChaplanSR as the main influential figures, and Johns Hopkins University as the leading institution. Pathogenesis based on central sensitization, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation and microglial activation, and the therapeutic measures of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, percutaneous nerve electrical stimulation, and non-opioid drug development are the research hotspots in this field. Based on the immune mechanism, it may become a frontier trend to explore the interaction between the immune system and neuropathic pain, evaluate the efficacy of immunomodulators in pain, and explore effective measures for the prevention and treatment of neuropathic pain. Conclusion: This visualized analysis has comprehensively summarized the trends and development of neuropathic pain, and identified the potential research frontiers and hot directions in the near future. |
