Objective: To observe the application of Canadian Occupational Performance Measures (COPM) in occupational activities of patients with spinal cord injury (C-D grade) at the level of T12-L4. Methods: All 64 patients with spinal cord injury (C-D grade) at the level of T12-L4 were recruited and divided into the observation group and the control group by randomized block group, with 32 cases in each group. All patients received routine rehabilitation of spinal cord injury for a period of 6 months. Additionally, the observation group was given the COPM for the rehabilitation of occupational activities, aiming to evaluate and treat the patients' occupational activity problems and rehabilitation needs. Before and 6 months after treatment, the occupational activities of the two groups were evaluated with the COPM, MBI and SCIM-Ⅲ. Results: After treatment for 6 months, COPM, MBI and SCIM-Ⅲ scores in two groups were significantly increased as compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), significnatly higher in the obsrvation group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of COPM in routine rehabilitation can significantly improve occupational activities of patients with spinal cord injury (C-D grade) at the level of T12-L4. |
